Greetings! Welcome to the Flicker Recap post here on the blog! This will be a weekly part of the Blog where a rundown will be given of what went down at each of the three meetings Flicker holds every week: Flicker, Flicker YouTube, and Reel Teal Film Festival. Let's get right into it!
This Monday was the Flicker Pitch Meeting titled "Pitch, Please!" Members were allowed to come up and pitch their project in any stage that it was in, whether they needed crew for something about to go in production or they were just presenting an idea floating around in their heads. We had a lot of participation from everyone in the amount of people pitching and responding to them. Lots of good and fun pitches from our members! Thanks to everyone who participated and gave pitches Monday night!
Before we move on to Flicker YouTube, a quick reminder that the Silent Film Challenge will be due THIS MONDAY at 5pm. Submissions can be roughly between 3-5 minutes in length and cannot feature any spoken dialogue or sound effects. Send your finished films to our email or google drive: firstname.lastname@example.org. The entries will all be screened at this Monday's meeting, 7:30pm in Morton 100!
Flicker YouTube met this past Tuesday. The members in attendance looked over a script or two that they are considering putting into production. They will continue to be developing these stories and working to make them actual Flicker Productions, so if you would like to get involved with that, come out to their weekly meetings Tuesday nights at 7pm in Leutze 138!
Reel Teal is starting to get going! The committee has begun the judging process, having received over 850 submissions so far from filmmakers all over the world. This week, the committee met and discussed how judging has been going, and they threw around ideas for their first commercials. A director and writer were even assigned to the first commercial that will be made for the festival. If you are interested in getting involved with Reel Teal, they meet on Wednesdays at 7pm in Leutze 138!
Also if you like to submit your film to the festival, go to the FilmFreeway page to learn more and submit!
Great stuff is always going on in Flicker, so stay tuned to the blog and all of our social media (which you can find at the bottom) for all the updates on what is happening!
